Dazzle me Dearly
Are you the kind of gal who lives a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget?
Don’t be shy, I know you are.
Which is why this cool Aussie brand called Glitter Gal will probably be your new BFF.
I found this little gem floating amidst my nail polish collection and was enchanted by its dazzling gleam. Yes – enchanted, bedazzled and hypnotised into a trance because it looked quite like something from the 10th planet.
While the alien look was a major hit this season, I wasn’t too keen to wax my eyebrows and dye my hair platinum. So I decided that having a totally out of this world polish would be the way I’d play homage to the look.
Here’s why. This polish is holographic. It’s 3D. It looks like something from Pluto and thumbs up to the girls at GlitterGal for creating this wicked formula (my guess is they probably secretly traveled to Pluto and extracted precious materials from there to create this amazing range of polishes).
In fact, the quality of the polish is like nothing I’ve ever used before. I’m looking at you OPI and China Glaze – while you have fab colours, you obviously haven’t traveled to Pluto yet. I’m not the best at painting my own nails (my hands seem to suddenly get an attack of arthritis every time I do my manicures) but this is a no streak no nothing brilliance, with no glitter fallouts at all and no chips. Plus it dries quickly, is highly pigmented, and the final effect is glassy and dazzling! In fact, it’s now been 6 days since I painted with this and it is still smooth with no chips. No sh*t.
At only $9.95 a pop – does it sound too good to be true? Maybe it is – in fact, I was probably in deep sleep mode when I saw my nails looking like this:
Perhaps I had my camera lying next to me in my sleep and I happened to take a snapshot of my dream. Freaky! Or perhaps, this really really is a super amazing polish.

Note: Pic shows ‘3D Holographic Collection’ polish in ‘green’ – which looks more like an aurora than ‘green’. I applied 2 coats except on my thumb, which is only 1 coat as I forgot to paint the extra coat. But you can really see how 1 coat is highly pigmented and looks great on its own too. Painted on a base coat of Dr Lewinn’s RevitaNail Nail Strengthener and top coat of Sally Hansen Mega Shine.
You can purchase these babies off the Glitter Gal website – where you’ll also find a list of stockists.
